Only in Alabama can you have a tornado touch down 3 miles from your home one day (73degrees) & 24 hours later wake up to this....................... Abbey & Mary Kathryn sledding on campus
Snowman on AU President's lawnWe ran into Aubie in front of Samford Hall
Abbey calm for the moment......Meg going WILD!
1 of many snowball fights
Now we're inside getting warm, the sun has started peeking out & everything will melt before you know it but............ WHAT A FUN DAY!! (And yes, it is supposed to be 70 degrees again by mid-week)!
how fun!!! we've been enjoying the same crazy weather here in memphis! hopefully we have the winter out of our system, we're freezing!!! glad you enjoyed the snow!!
Look like you all were having fun. That's great to be with family. Thank you so much for praying for me. I'm so thankful that God had you to find my blog and to pray for me. I hope this isn't our last time being in contact with each other.
How thrilled we are to share this awesome experience with you! We are in the process of adopting an infant domestically (we prefer & have requested an african american or bi-racial girl). The name Zoe came from a series of events after years of praying for a LIFE movement over our nation...
David was in D.C. at "The Call", a day of prayer/fasting for our nation. Abbey & I were home & upon waking up that morning, I had a fleeting thought about a name we had talked about while puppy-shopping(Zoe)..."maybe God wants us to ADOPT a BABY & name HER Zoe"...I dismissed it as being VERY random (seeing as how adoption had not been on my mind AT ALL) & went about my day...
until tuning in to watch the D.C. event online...
a pastor was praying for God to touch people's hearts with the spirit of adoption. A mom was holding her adopted child on stage & he prayed that the meaning of her name (LIFE) resonate across this nation. You can guess what her name was?!?!...ZOE! I knew in my heart God was speaking & prayed,"Lord if this is you, confirm it through David". He called 2 hrs. later and said,"there's something to this adoption thing for us". We were amazed at what the Lord was doing in each of us so far apart! We continued to pray & talk with our family & pastor, and God continued to confirm. So here we are....and so she'll be....Zoe! *(later we actually were connected through a friend-of-a-friend with the parents of Zoe that was on stage at The Call... CLICK HERE to read about their amazing adoption journey! They are in full-time ministry with the International House of Prayer,or IHOP, in Kansas City and have recently started The Zoe Adoption Foundation. We had a logo designed for our adoption fundraising & now have shared it with them to use in their agency. God is amazing like that!
